Why is the corneal flp made during LASIK?

The first step in the LASIK procedure is making the corneal flap. The surface flap is created and then folded back in order to access the corneal tissue that’s located beneath the surface. The laser is then used to correct the vision of the eye. When the treatment is completed, the flap is folded into position. This flap acts as a bandage over the treated eye.
