Alternatives to LASIK surgery
LASIK is a great procedure and can treat nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. However, LASIK may not be the best procedure for patients with thin corneas. For those patients, PRK, or photorefractive keratectomy, might be a better alternative.
There are also other procedures, known as implantable lens [ICL, Visian] or phakic intraocular lens [Verisyse], in which a lens is implanted inside the eye to treat highly nearsighted individuals. The results of these lenses are amazing. For more information on alternatives to LASIK surgery, contact us.
