LASIK Produces Satisfied Customers

According to the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), about 95% of the more than 16 million people who have undergone LASIK worldwide are satisfied with their results. According to ASCRS President, Richard L. Lindstrom, M.D., "We find that there is solid evidence in the world’s scientific literature to affirm that there is an exceptionally high level of satisfaction in patients who have had LASIK surgery."

The percentage of satisfied LASIK patients was based on a review of nearly 3,000 peer-reviewed articles that appeared in scientific and medical journals globally. While it is acknowledged that there are risks involved with any refractive surgery, LASIK has been successful and is continually being improved via technology and techniques. Another crucial factor in successful LASIK is choosing the appropriate candidates who have good general eye health.
