Great vision with PRK

Not every patient is a candidate for LASIK. But, great vision is still possible with PRK or Advanced Surface Ablation, as well as EpiLASIK and LASEK. Some reasons a patient may be a candidate for Advanced Surface Ablation rather than LASIK may be because they have thin corneas or participate in contact sports. Another reason could be if a patient is interested in joining the military.

During the PRK procedure, Dr. Sandy T. Feldman gently reshapes the cornea without making the traditional LASIK flap. It does take longer for eye tissue to heal after having PRK treatment and there can be some discomfort, which is managed with eye drops and antibiotic medications.
