What does LASIK surgery feel like?

Before surgery the patient is given medication to relax them as well as to drops to sterilize and prepare the eyes for surgery. As the LASIK treatment is being done the patient will feel some slight pressure on the eyes as the LASIK flap is being created. The rest of the LASIK procedure is very easy for the patient, they simply have to continue to focus at a flashing red light as the laser painlessly reshapes the cornea.

After the laser vision correction procedure, it is normal that the eyes may feel gritty for a few days. But, the prescribed antibiotic and lubricating eye drops help the patient eyes feel more comfortable as they heal.
