New Study shows Vitamin B may prevent Age Related Macular Degeneration
A recent article in the Associated Press discussed a new study lead by Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston that showed taking Vitamin B may prevent age-related macular degeneration in older women.

Is eye protection needed after LASIK surgery?
Patients do need to wear eye protection after having LASIK. During the laser vision consultation, the ClearView team guides patients through the laser procedure and the healing process. They also evaluate a patient’s individual occupational and recreational needs. This will enable them to accurately educate the patient on wearing eye protection after the laser vision correction procedure.

Can I rub my eyes after having LASIK surgery?
After LASIK, you should not rub your eyes for a month. Â The anti-inflammatory drops prescribed after laser correction surgery often reduce the sensation of itch. Â So it is unlikely that you will feel the need to rub your eyes.

Some guidelines for eye care after LASIK surgery
- After surgery, plan to go home and rest
- While showers and baths are fine after laser vision correction surgery, just avoid getting water in your eyes
- Do not rub your eyes
- Avoid going swimming, into hot tubs and gardening for a week after surgery
- Do not swim in the ocean for two weeks
- Avoid wearing make-up for about three days after surgery
- When you do start wearing makeup again, be sure to buy new mascara and eyeliner
- Don’t drive after surgery until after your first post operative appointment with Dr. Sandy T. Feldman
