Q) How do Custom LASIK and IntraLase LASIK differ? Is one more advanced than the other?
A) These two procedures refer to different parts of the LASIK process.
In Custom LASIK, wavefront technology is used to tailor the treatment for the unique characteristics of your eyes. Just like the DNA in our bodies, each person’s waveprint is unique. Studies have shown that the quality of vision, especially at night is better with Custom treatments than with older conventional treatments.
In Intralase LASIK, the flap is created by use of the Intralase laser rather than a mechanical semiautomated instrument known as a microkeratome.
