Dr. Amir Ghanipour is an optometrist and the Clinical Director of Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center. Working alongside Dr. Sandy T. Feldman and Dr. Michael L. Mathison, he helps guide each patient's experience from the very first conversation forward.
Dr. Ghanipour once planned to design buildings. He started in engineering, moved toward architecture, and discovered that loving design and being able to draw are two different things. These days, he says, the only thing he can reliably draw is an eyeball.
His interest in physics led him to an optical lab making lenses for glasses. He started by making the thing people looked through, and soon realized he was far more interested in the person looking through it. Volunteering to fit children with the glasses he had helped make, he kept seeing the same first reaction: widened eyes, then a smile. It was hard not to get curious about what was happening on the other side of those lenses.
That curiosity has since taken him to Senegal, Guatemala, Peru, Jamaica and St. Lucia. The equipment and the languages changed. The moments didn't, whether it was a grandmother seeing her granddaughter's expressions clearly or a quiet boy finding his way into a soccer game.
Dr. Ghanipour earned his Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University and completed his residency in ocular disease at Georgia Eye Partners, with extensive experience in glaucoma, corneal disease and refractive surgery care. He went on to practice in Atlanta alongside leading cornea and refractive surgeons, caring for patients with complex eye disease as well as those who simply wanted to wake up and not reach for their glasses.
Before joining Clearview in 2025, he worked with STAAR Surgical, lecturing and collaborating with refractive practices and surgical teams across the country to improve the understanding, flow and delivery of EVO ICL care.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Ghanipour is happiest when life includes good food, movement, a little curiosity and enough steps to keep his watch satisfied. He practices yoga most days and is remarkably committed to perfecting his savasana. Apparently, lying completely still takes practice.
