The Clearview team was wonderful throughout my whole experience at their facility. I initially went in for a lasik consult, but unfortunately didn't qualify so I ended up going with Dr. Feldman's recommendation of ICL surgery. The surgery, the recovery and all of the follow up appointments were super easy and all of the front office staff, assistive staff, and doctors that I interacted with were very nice and took their time to see if I had any questions. I just finished my final follow up with amazing results! I had been wearing glasses since age 7 and contacts since age 12 and without either on I could not see anything further than an inch or two from my face. Now in my 30s and I can see perfectly without having to use any prescription eyewear! Thanks Clearview!

Although LASIK is one of Dr. Feldman's most sought after specialties, she knows that laser vision correction isn't the best option for all her patients in the San Diego area. This can be true for a variety of reasons, including that particular patients may not be good candidates or may not want to have a laser vision correction surgery.
ClearView Eye and Laser Medical Center patients may choose another vision correction option, implantable contact lenses (ICL).
Implantable contact lenses also are called phakic intraocular lens implants because they are implanted without removing your eye's natural lens. The lenses can resemble regular contact lenses or crescent-shaped segments in shape. They can be used to effectively treat nearsightedness and are currently being developed to treat farsightedness and astigmatism.
Depending on the specific lens and extent of vision correction you need, the implantable lenses can be surgically placed between the cornea and the iris, or just behind the iris. Regardless of their placement, they work by properly adjusting the way that light reflects back to the retina and can improve vision up to 20/20.

There are two types of implantable lenses approved by the FDA for vision correction currently: EVO Visian ICL and STAAR Visian . You can read more detailed information about these lenses by following the links below.
