Just like celebrities, San Diegans can now have the EVO TM and see better too!
More and more, celebrities and San Diegans alike, are choosing to undergo the LASIK alternative known as the EVO Implantable Collamer Lens, or EVO ICLTM. Dr. Sandy T. Feldman, at Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center in San Diego, has been a pioneer in performing the EVO ICLTM procedure since its FDA approval in the United States in 20221, and has seen first-hand the remarkable, positive results for her patients. Dr. Feldman is the #1 EVO ICLTM surgeon in San Diego2 and among the most experienced surgeons in the U.S.
Shortly after its FDA approval in the US, musician Joe Jonas who was nearsighted underwent the transformative EVO ICLTM procedure. Partnering with Staar surgical, the manufacturer of the EVO ICLTM, Joe engaged in public awareness efforts to educate the public about the EVO ICLTM and its unique benefits.3 He was thrilled that he could see clearly without glasses and contact lenses. Similarly, Kevin Jonas, his brother and band member, who was also nearsighted underwent the EVO ICLTM procedure and is now enjoying the benefits of natural, glasses and contact lens free clarity. Both will get to “see their fans in San Diego and beyond” as they tour the world this year.4
These Jonas Brothers are not the only celebrities choosing the EVO ICLTM. Recently, Tennessee Titans quarterback, Will Levis joined the list of celebrities who upgraded his vision with EVO ICLTM too as did the Miami Heat’s renowned Basketball player Max Strus. 5,6 and Cobra Kai’s Netflix star, Peyton List.
“The EVO ICLTM joins LASIK in a list of premium, modern solutions for vision correction enabling people to see clearly without glasses and/or contact lenses. And since two million procedures have been performed to date around the world, it is a procedure that San Diegans should consider when opting for visual freedom. It has high success and satisfaction rates - 90.3% of people achieve 20/20 vision for the toric version, and an impressive 99.4% of patients report satisfaction with this procedure and would do it again.”7,8 says Dr. Sandy T. Feldman of Clearview.
The EVO ICLTM lens is composed of biopolymer of collagen and is inserted through a small opening in the eye, and placed underneath the colored part (iris) of the eye to treat nearsightedness and astigmatism. It is very small, about half the size of a contact lens. It is an additive procedure, meaning no tissue is removed. The lens implant works to provide clear vision during the day as well as at night.7
Worldwide, 2 million EVO ICLTM lenses have been implanted.8 EVO Lenses are delivering life changing benefits to individuals with nearsightedness and astigmatism, from a low prescription of 3 D of nearsightedness to very high nearsighted levels, 19.0 D.
Dr. Sandy T. Feldman is among the most experienced in the U.S. and San Diego’s #1 EVO ICLTM surgeon and one of the nation’s top LASIK experts.
